Digital transformation – let’s talk about the future

Everyone who has ever run a business knows that it involves being in a mental reality in two realities – present and future. Handling current affairs, tightening contracts, and keeping deadlines, while also thinking about strategies for the future, improvements, and how to best adapt the company’s activities to the changing market. Hard? Unfortunately necessary. However, while in the present we can use a limited pool of tools, the future can bring us interesting solutions. This is the digital transformation!

What is digital transformation?

We can start by saying that digital transformation is the most important trend in the modern economy and science, that it is the subject of research by universities and bodies of the European Union. It will be easier and more vivid to say that it is simply something that is already happening and introduces us to the future.

But let’s start with the specifics. The first association that comes to mind when we think about digital transformation is the latest technological solutions in the company. IT solutions to improve work are of course helpful, but introducing them on an ad hoc basis, where there is a need for support, is not a digital transformation yet.

Of course, a tool supporting invoices circulation or work time monitoring system is a good idea if we see that it could help us to perform our tasks better. Digital transformation, however, is a comprehensive change in the organization of the company in such a way as to combine business processes with the latest technologies. The planned and comprehensive introduction of modern solutions affects the style of work, adapts it to new times.

Example? The simplest and known to everyone – the cloud. It’s a good way to store company information, and many companies begin the digital transformation with this. But this way of storing data affects several corporate issues. These may be procedures (for example, related to security), maybe just more efficient work or another communication model, or maybe the introduction of further solutions that are complementary to the cloud and modernize work.

Is it worth investing in it?

The issue here is not “whether” – more “when” or “how”. For years, we have been providing companies from various industries with modern tools for business or production management and we see how one small change entails another – and once you try to work more simply thanks to digital tools, it is difficult to return to Excel sheets and paper forms.

Planning is an important point in all this. As we mentioned – the introduction of digital solutions unconnected and not cooperating is not a solution. The beginning of a digital transformation in a company should first and foremost be a thorough reflection on how business processes in our company work and how they could be improved. Choosing and creating the right tools may seem difficult in this context, but let’s stop here – you know best how your business works. If you show professionals how to work, acquire customers, invoice circulation – whatever you want to digitize, they will find a way to digitize business processes.

Digital transformation is slowly becoming every day, and to operate on the market, every company will have to implement it sooner or later. Let’s look at the processes in your company and think together what solutions will be best for it 😊
